Hi there,
I've had these puffy areas below and above my eyes since I was about 14. I'm 33 now and they seem to be getting worse. It's one of those thing that I never really took much notice of, but after looking at a lot of photos from the past and present, the first thing I see are my puffy eyes.
I have no idea what causes my eyes to be like this, whether it's genetic or something in my environment.
I haven't tried any products on my eyes. I use moisturiser on my face but generally avoid the eye area as I heard the skin around the eyes tends to soak up moisture (not sure if this is just an old wives tale).
Any suggestions welcome.

I would suggest using a small amount of oil free moisturiser around your eyes. I personally have found that oil makes my eyes puff up. I don't know whether the skin around the eyes soaks up more water than any where else, but I do know that many people use too much moisturiser on their face and eyes and this can certainly cause sagging and puffiness. Use a small amount of product and pat it in gently with your finger tip.
Also I have found that using a product containing dmae has helped firm up both upper and lower eye area. However if your eyes have been puffy since you were 14 it is probable that this is genetic rather than age related.
Matrixyl will help thicken the skin, so my suggestion for something not too expensive would be to make a serum using dmae and matrixyl in a base of aloe vera gel with glycerin or hyauloronic acid. Garden of Wisdom has these products at a very good price and have reasonable shipping rates. Bulk Actives has dmae and hyauloronic acid but not matrixyl, but their prices are even better.Aloe vera and glycerin can be bought in pharmacies and health food stores, even supermarkets. The good thing about this product is that you can make it at a reasonable enough price to use all over your face/neck/hands as well as the eye area.
Garden of Wisdom has a small number of basic recipes including dmae serum recipe. More complicated recipes can be found at The Personal Formulator and Skin Actives. They also stock these products but at much higher prices. I have bought from both bulk actives and garden of wisdom and had their products shipped to Australia. Shipping time was reasonable and service and quality of product was excellent. Good luck. |

I would suggest you to wear a good sunscreen and always try to wear your sunglasses. |
