Strange skin condition

Ever since the summer of 2005 I have had a round red patch of skin on the inside of my ankle. It has grown, but is not raised and it's not itchy or flaky. the doctors have given me steroid creams, but they haven't worked. It recently disappeared, but now two more patches have come back in the same place. has anyone any idea of what these might be?

Weird!!!!!! Sorry, I have no idea what it is, but I just have to tell you that it reminds me of something I used to get. It was about 7 years ago. I would get these little bumps on my feet. I didn't know what they were or where they came from. I don't think they were corns or anything. They were like little pin-sized bumps. They did hurt a little bit, but not terribly. I had them on and off for about a year. I was only getting about one at a time. Then all of a sudden, I got about 7-8 of them on one foot. That was more uncomfortable. I had them for a month or two and then they all vanished forever. I never got them again. I know that's not the same thing as yours is, but it just reminded me of it.
