Hi, everyone

just like the title says, i'm only 20 but i already have massive lines under my eyes. they dont really look like wrinkles... just a single huge line under each eye. Here's a picture of one.

Is there any way to get rid of this, or at least stop it from getting worse?... i really cant stand the way it looks.

Thank you

That is the tear trough line sometimes improperly called 'nasojugal groove'. The line is there because there isn't enough fat right below it to fill it in. It usually appears due to general fat loss as people age (after 30 yo) but in your case it's genetics not aging since you are rather young.

No topical cream is capable of correcting the volume so the only solution would be a filler. Your best bet is fat grafting below the eyes but it has 2 weeks downtime and is expensive. Second best is filling the area with Hyaluronic acid filler like in this video

(add w w w in front)
thederm.org/videolibrary.php?dvid=12

You have to go to experienced injector that injects deeply otherwise the HA will show a blue/dark tint below the skin, like 'dark circles'. Ask your injector if he/she ever had problem with bluish tint from Hyaluronic acid and choose one that answers 'never'. The HA filler costs about $500 and will last 6 months - 1 year, the body breaks it down.

If you also have discoloration of the skin in that area due to melanin, not capillaries, you can try a bleaching cream with hydroquinone. That has no effect on the volume deficiency but will take away the color with a few months use supposedly.

Hi Mike,
I thought I'd just add a different perspective to what you consider a problem with your appearance. Orangehrzn did indeed give you the information necessary to go about treating a tear trough. But you are 20 years old, and I am sorry, but that looks like a 20 year old's eye to me...even younger. The lighting in the photo also exaggerates the groove. You say this is something you really can't stand. I just wonder if you are fixating on it a bit and not seeing the forest from the trees. You really do look completely normal and it is a fine eye!

Here are some reasons I do not think a young man your age would benefit from the measures that would need be taken to change the appearance of your eye. First, fillers are expensive. Do you have 600-800 dollars for one syringe let alone several over the course of one year? The results of temporary fillers used in the tear duct are very temporary - results typically last two months in that area of the face. Do you want to keep returning to a dermatologist/plastic surgeon every several months, shelling out hundreds of dollars at your age? Sure, you might not worry about what you consider a flaw, but you will have chosen to define it as a flaw that needs remedy. Fat grafting would require you to have fat surgically removed from your body. Also, the results are normally not permanent. Seems like a whole lot of trouble to go through and a lot of wasted money on something that you could instead learn to accept. I personally do not see it as something that needs "correction."

My suggestion is to focus on the things you do like about your appearance, your personality, and aspects of your life you enjoy. You could take that money from surgery or needles and buy yourself a vacation abroad! You may very well not wish to go through the pains of surgery and the cost of injections at your age, however, I felt I would tell you my opinion and let you know that I believe myself and others consider you completely normal.

i had the same problem times ago. and i researched about it and i found fine lines on the eyes area are often due to dehydration and that's something important to know in order to choose the good product and adopt the good gesture.like your eye contour is dehydrate so you need water if you apply an eye nourish, then its like you apply oil, but it's not what you need. what you need is to moisturize, bring some water. if you don't use good product you won't get the expected result. the best way to get rid of it to use rosemary extract, avocado oil, essential oil etc. and what i use is the vegan product one kind of eye serum virginic.com/collections/serums/products/advanced-botanical-eye-serum and this product will match with your expectation i am sure. have a good day and good luck.

Hmm, I think it does not really matter are you a woman or a man, we all have the problem, the thing that helped me ( to be honest my husband uses it sometimes) is -ttps://virginic.com/collections/serums/products/advanced-botanical-eye-serum. I did not get rid of the issue completely, but it did help me. Hope you will take advantage of it too. Write me back how it went. Also, if anyone has sth to offer cheaper and better I am really looking for your suggestions too :D
