hi, wonder if anyone can help me, or more specifically, my husband.
He's in his forties and has had a vewry large open pore on his upper lip for at least ten years or so. For most of this time that is all it was - a hole. More recently however it has become more prominent in that the skin around it seems to have thickened in a circular area around it (so that is looks a bit like a mini volcano.) There is obviously 'stuff' in there but it is very difficult to remove and requires a lot of squeezing, which then leads to the area becoming red and angry looking. The stuff that does come out can be very hard, like congealed sebum. Whe it is out the area is less bulbous looking, but then gradually just seems to get congested and lumpy again.
All in all it is beginning to get him down and any suggestions would be very welcome. He has oily skin, with a very oily nose which has smaller, more normal looking open pores.
Please help! |

this is an old post, but have you tried consulting a doctor/dermatologist? just to make sure what's inside that 'mini volcano'. and stop squeezing it 'cause you just might push whatever it is deeper inside. i made that mistake before. |

Really old post! But if you're still out there, how about exfoliating the pore regularly with a drop of alpha hydroxy acid or salicylic acid?
Home Health makes a nice blemish treatment lotion that works well for me and my bf.
good luck! |
