It may be hard to answer this question, but is glycation caused by copper a major concern when applying cooper peptides to the skin? I've used the CP serum by Skin Biology for quite a while, and I've always liked it. But now there's a chance that it might increase glycation in the skin. I've thought about using it in conjunction with a serum made from pyridoxamine to offset any possible glycation from the copper, but I won't do that yet, since I don't know what the right percentage of pyridoxamine would be (in a DIY product, or any product), and I still don't know how safe it is, even though Dr. Perricone believes it's safe in his latest book.

In animals with copper deficiency glycation seems to be increased. Conversely, excess copper may be pro-oxidative and perhaps increase either glycation itself or formation of AGE after glycation. In other words, the situation is complex and it is hard to predict the net affect of topical copper peptides in terms of skin glycation without a direct study.
