issues/problems that one needs to look for when starting with DYI.
Which are the reliable vendors for the'actives/ingredients?
I'm tempted to do my own DYI, but I have my fears.
Dr. Todorov and anyone into DYI, your comments would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks so much!

thanks skeeter41 and sloro for the vendors' info.

If someone could be so kind to warm me about potential issues/problems/negative outcomes to look for in DYI skin care.

Thanks so much!

Take notes on which ingredients are water soluble, which are oil soluble and those that need alcohol or something else to dissolve. If you want to mix oil based ingredients with water based ingredients you will need an emulsifier of some kind.

Using supplements for DIY is tempting because they are usually cheaper than pure ingredients from DIY suppliers, but they often contain fillers that don't dissolve and effect the consistency and effectiveness of your product.

It's also tempting to create a "Super Cream" or serum by adding numerous ingredients together. Be aware this often backfires. Too many ingredients can spoil the whole and may be rendered ineffective because they compete.
