how i tint white sunscreens

This is what I use to tint my all natural, non-micronized, with no nano particles, zinc oxide sunscreen. It contains a surprising 25% zinc oxide which leaves the worst white cast ever.

In the palm of my hand I squeeze out the amount of sunscreen to use for my face, which is about 1 teaspoon, then I add the smallest amount of lycopene or even better some astaxanthin into my palm and mix it with my suncreen before applying. I use a cotton swap to "dab out" the smallest amount out of the vial of the antioxidants which I keep in my fridge. I do it freshly everday, because I do not want to have it all premixed into the sunscreen bottle since this antioxidant might not last long, but seems to last better unmixed in the vial it comes in which I keep in the fridge.

Be really careful because this stuff is super red, and it stains badly if too much is used, but just the right amount gives you a nice glowing tan look. Then after applied to my face, I finish it with a natural pressed powder on top of my face for a more skin toned colour, in order to balance the colour.

AND AS A REMINDER: reapply during the day, since we all know that even physical blockers DO degrade over time as well once they reach their critical wavelenghs. There is no such sunscreen invented that maintains effectiveness for 24 hours, since they all eventually reach their critial wavelenghs and then start to degrade and produce free radicals if more layers are not applied before the timelimit is reached. You might want to add some green tea EGCG too in order to maximize benefits to help with anti inflammation, more over it will help you not to break out as much since it helps with acne too.

This works for me, and I am a guy by the way! It works fine too with my facial hair, it seems. Maybe not so if your facial hair is too too dark though, but brown or blonde facial hair seems to be ok with this to blend in. I don't think it would work very well with mineral makeup, since it is a powder, and it might make you look chalky. The antioxidants I use as described come in a liquid form, and blend nicely with the sunscreen. It even gives your skin a nice sunglow to it, since their strong red colours mixes with the white to form a kind of orangey, yellow colour.

The sunscreen I use is called Heiko Kids SPF 50. with 25% zinc oxide, non micronized. It seems to come up as extremely safe if you input all the ingredients from it into the COSMETIC SAFETY DATABASE website, which is an excellent website to find out how safe the ingredients in your products really are. I purchase this sunscreen from Superstore in the organic section for about $30 Canadian.
