It was mentioned in another thread that mixing DMAE and L-ascorbic acid is not a good idea, due to PH.
Does this also apply to DMAE bitartrate?

| Yes, it does. This is likely to affect both the effectiveness of DMAE and ascorbic acid. |

I'm confused about Dr. T's answer because I thought both DMAE bitartrate and ascorbic acid have a similar (i.e., low) PH. |

| DMAE bitartrate has approximately neutral pH and will partly buffer acidity of ascorbic acid. |

| What about mixing DMAE with alpha-lipoic acid, as is commonly done? Is mixing DMAE with any acid a bad appraoch? |

| Lipoic acid is a weaker acid than ascorbic acid, so that could be ok. Besides, activity of lipoic acid does not depend on pH that much, while ascorbic acid seems to work only at low pH. |

| I have not tested this combination. Generally speaking, DMAE bitartrate is not very oil soluble. |

| Is it ok to use DIY ascorbic acid solution first and after this dries up put DMAE cream over it? |

| Ascorbic acid tends to absorb better at low pH. DMAE, even if buffered, tends to raise pH, so it might reduce absorption of ascorbic acid. That said, until someone tests the dynamics of absorption as a function of time elapsed after application, it is hard to say for sure what the optimal delay is. |

Thank you, dr. T.
I have one more question.
If I use AHA cream cleanser on a daily basis and glycolic masque (10%) on a week basis, is it better (after AHA products) to proceed with vitamin C products or DMAE products? |
