magnesium ascorbate and magnesium ascorbyl phosphate

Are them the same compound?. Is magnesium ascorbate good for topical application as Magnesium ascorbate (vitamin C and elemental magnesium)?.

Magnesium ascorbate does not penetrate as well as ascorbic acid because it is charged. But it is less irritating due to higher pH, so it might be somewhat useful for sensitive skin. However, magnesium ascorbyl phosphate is a better option for people with sensitive skin than magnesium ascorbate.

I found it difficult to find magnesium ascorbyl phosphate in Europe.
