Hi Dr T! I've had a few operations recently and am wondering what a good way to address scarring is.

My doctor recommended applying Bio-Oil for 12 months, and firmly massaging scar tissue after 3 months. Already the scars are well hidden and healing well. How much this is from bio oil it's hard to say. My skin tone is perfect for hiding cuts (fair complexion)

I've read that Copper Peptides may be the best solution for scarring, whereas other have mentioned silicone sheets. Or how would you rate Bio-Oil?

Do you have any thoughts on this? Not asking for specific medical advice of course, so feel free to keep it general.

In my experience, silicone sheets work fairly well on new/forming scars and less so on older scars. I am not aware of any credible research that bio-oil reduces scars.

What is the best bet then for someone with scars from surgery?

Unfortunately silicone sheets are too expensive for me to use. I wondered about Copper Peptides
