Hi,

Why most gel therapy masks have this warning in the instructions:

"Freeze for x minutes. Do not freeze solid"

Is it because the gel looses it's consistency? Or maybe it can damage the skin?

Can someone shed some light into this?

For an amorphous or colloidal substance like a gel, the solidity correlates with the temperature, i.e. when gel is frozen solid, it indicates that it is considerable colder than when it is still soft. It he gel is so cold that it is solid, it could produce freeze burn and other damage in sensitive eye area, possibly even damage to the eye itself.
