I had surgery 10 months ago and I'm left with two 2-inch scars on both sides of my abdomen. I've tried vitamin E oil, Mederma, silicone scar patches and nothing has worked to diminish these scars. I'm considering laser removal, has anybody had it done? Or can anybody recommend something? THANK YOU! |

Rather than laser treatment have you considered skin camouflage? I had a scar and was too scared to use lasers. I found a company which was called Visable Difference, I think . They colour match your skin and teach you how to use the camouflage cream yourself. There is no pain and no chance of even more scarring. Try Googling them. |

My scar was a little pink/red when I was leaving the hospital, so they put me on anitbiotics just incase, pop in and see your gp and have them have a look at it. He/she might just put you on something if it looks a little infected. |

i can recommend a scar cream that i use on psoriasis lesions and it helps fade them so i know it would work on regular scars. it is from a company called Make up artists choice. it is called rosehips and hibiscus scar cream. i have used many things on my lesions of psoriasis over the years and this really helps heal them so i am sure it would help with scars on your abdomen. i tried everything also, scar creams, lotions, i try to stay away from steroids as they thin the skin. |

Hi kristymay_c,
I've been using ScarSil scar gel for a surgery scar and it seems to be helping. |

Many methods are available to lessen the appearance of scarring, and the one used will depend on the severity of the scar. Non-surgical methods include injectable fillers for concave scars, light therapy, lasers, dermabrasion, and chemical peels. Deeper scars require surgery to remove. |

Laser scar removal is also very effective but still its a small kinda operation which may lead you to bigger issues then scar so my suggestion to you is try to stick with natural remedies or any non surgical |

Hi kristymay
While reading your whole story I feel the same. Because I am also suffering from this problem few months back. I am very harass when I use so much products, medicines and much more to diminish scars. Then at Last I used Microdermabrasion machine at home. It is very easy to use also. After use of two months my scars starting fading up. So I recommend you to use it and see the difference. |
