Hi

This is my first post!

I'm a 37 year old mum of two who apart from acne when I was a teenager and a small spout after my 2nd child my skin has been great, I have noticed recently though that I am getting some wrinkles and bags ect

I just wondered what sort of product I could use and what is important to look for in anti aging products?

Thanks

Kelly

Hi,

You should start your anti-aging treatment by following some natural remedies at home and then consult with a specialist regarding correct treatment.
The simple Natural remedies are like-
- Drink lots of water
- Stay away from oily food,
- Prefer Green vegetables and fruits in your daily diet,
- Cover your face while travelling and be safe from pollution
- Wash your face at least twice a day with a good quality face wash.

Regards,

I don't agree with the above post that one needs to avoid oils from one's diet.

Healthy oils are one of the best things one can do for the body.
Just stay away from trans fats, and most saturated fats, except those saturated fats found in coconut oil which contain medium-chain triglycerides. Fats and proteins are also more satisfying and filling than carbs, which can lead to unsteady sugar levels and cravings.

One should be staying away from, and limiting as much as possible from eating carbohydrates (starches AND sugars), which do intensive damage to our skin and our internal bodies in general.

Using supplements to counter act the detremental effects of sugars and carbs is important. As is increasing one's daily fibre intake (both soluble and insoluble fibres).

Supplements such as L-carnosine, berberine, cinnamon extract, chromium, alpha lipoic acid, benfotiamine, P-5-P, to help keep healthy sugar levels in the blood and fight against AGES (advanded glycation end products). Other Antioxidant and good for you supplements such as D3, green tea EPCG, flavonoids such as quercitin, proanthocynadins, ellagic acid, resveratrol, acetyl l carnitine, MSM, garlic extract, mixed tocopherols and tocotrienols, vitamin c, astaxanthin, lycopene, lutein, CoQ10, calcium + vitamin K.

Supplementing with adaptogens to deal with stress, in combination with mindful meditation or relaxation therapies.

Supplements for the brain such as curcumin, acetyl l carnitine, lecithin, choline bitartrate, DMAE, centrophenoxine, piracetam.

Of course exercise, a healthy diet of all coloured vegetables (corn and starchy vegetables do not count) and fruits only high in fibre such as berries, lots of fresh clean water (reverse osmosis + alkalanized), DHA + EPA omegas.

And a physical sunscreen everyday of the year, in combination with antioxidants for the skin, and tretinoin and or alpha hydroxy acids, vitmamin C, and everything else recommened on Dr. Todorov's site.

One of the best things you can do to fight aging is to lower cortisol levels. Cortisol is your body's primary stress hormone, and in excess amounts,it has a catabolic effect, in that it breaks down muscle tissue.

And that's not all. Excess cortisol breaks down all kinds of tissue in your body, including in your brain (leading to dementia), your bones (leading to osteoporosis) and your skin (leading to wrinkles).

That's probably the main reason why chronic stress ages you faster:it's all that excess cortisol flooding your body, doing damage to all your tissues.

Plus, excess cortisol is suspected of accelerating the shortening of the telomeres, which would cause you to age faster biologically. In any case, we know that chronic stress accelerates the shortening of the telomeres.

Not surprisingly, Dr. Nicholas Perricone says that in all of his years as a practicing physician, he's seen nothing that has the pro-aging effects of stress. More specifically, the excess cortisol that your body produces, when you're under stress.

Hence, I've written an article on "30 Ways to Lower Cortisol Levels Naturally". I can't post it on this site, of course. But it's good to know that there are so many ways that you can lower cortisol levels naturally, and thus slow the aging the process.
