Hello, I've seen many articles about "Lotion or Oil," but I can't seem to find any information about using moisturizing lotion AND oil. I would do this after the mask:

1. Put the moisturizer on
2. Wait a bit
3. Put the oil on it.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

If you want the best natural oil for skin moisturizing, try avocado oil. Skin experts recommend avocado oil because it is absorbed faster and deeper into the skin than other natural oils and has the ability to keep skin well cleansed and nourished. Avocado oil works on all skin types as it contains a number of vitamins such as Vitamin A, C and E which are known to give skin a radiant look and tone.

Better than emu oil even? Is it very comedogenic?

I like emu oil (the ultra clear variety which is totally clear, and no white residue whatsoever, which absorbs the fastest and feels like silk on your skin) and squalane since I believe they absorb the deepest into the skin for true moisturization.

For really dry occasions, I buy cholesterol/lanoestrol esters from lotioncrafter and add them to the squalane to make a super moisturizing oil, a replica of skinbiology's "Celes Oil", for MUCH MUCH cheaper :).

Here is my recipe for it:

89.8% squalane oil (from olives) (I get mine from lotioncrafter or bulkactives)
8.5% c10-30 cholesterol/lanosterol esters (from lotioncrafter)
1.7% vitamin D cholecalciferol (from skinactives)

1. Mix cholesterol/lanosterol esters very well before adding to squalane oil in a heat safe beaker, or dish.
Heat up squalane and cholesterol/lanosterol esters to 75-80 degrees celsius so they will combine nicely and mix well, then let this cool down to room temperature.

2. At room temperature, add in vitamin d, and mix well.

3. Store in airtight container (I prefer a dark glass dropper bottle) that has already been boiled to sanitize it(my preference) or cleaned very well with hot soap and water.

No preservative nor vitamin E is needed since they are very stable against oxidation (I still prefer to make fresh monthly batches, just in case). Store in dark cool area, out of direct sunlight. Use at night only, since the vit d degrades in sunlight. If you want to make a version to use at day time, omit the vitamin d, and add the extra 1.7% into the squalane so it will be like this:

91.5% squalane oil
8.5% c10-30 cholesterol/lanosterol esters

If you prefer to use a lighter oil for day use, and use the heavier recipe here for the night time, then try ultra clear emu oil (Country Divine sells the cheapest one which is also properly certifiedfor purity). or squalane for day use.

You should try coconut oil or Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion for your skin because these both are best for healthy, smoother and brighter skin.
