I got one IPL for $300. My skin epidermis was burned at two places that took months to heal. Needless to say, zero result with redness and facial capillaries. The 'nurse' didn't know how to adjust the IPL settings to get pass the epidermis, most of the time they use preprogrammed settings without much understanding of the light-skin interaction. One of the 'nurses' I spoke to didn't know her machine had manual mode, she was convinced she couldnt change the settings before talking to me and she had supposedly 'years of experience' LOL

I had Thermage treetment at, The Burghley Park Clinic, Taw Hill Medical Practice, Swindon, England. It cost £3,500 and it made no difference whatsoever. Before and after photos soon to be put on my website. Their website is http://www.burghleyparkclinic.com/. Just don't do it - IT DOESN'T WORK.

I only planned a simple IPL treament on my thin skin. My wife sah in the TV that "laser" treatments can cause remaining side effects. So we made the greatest mistake of our life. We heard in 2006 in a cosmetic studio from a brand new procedure avoiding possible side effects. They gave us a flyer about Thermage. A few days later we asked our skin Dr. and he recommended the Thermage treatment for us before IPL for me. The advertising of Thermage with so positive reports in magazins and a newspaper followed a discussion with a Thermage certified Dr. He declared Thermage is now safe / nothing without redness or swelling can happen / all can only become better / no side effects like thinner face with fat loss, teeth problems, irritation of the heart or thyroid / only it can be that the treatment makes no advantage. Skin should win more thickness - so a good chance for saving additional IPL treatment. My wrong conclusion "only" a money risc. So in a good condition we received 12/2006 our very hot and painful treatments with 3,0 cm2 tip/400 pulses each for full face. Before treatment it was agreed only for small sections!!!
The lot of received RF stressed our immune systems enormous. Problems for months bad sleeping, heart problems - my blood pressure reached problematic values (from an other Dr. we both got beta blocker), both extremely nervous and unasual tired. In Feb 2007 started problems with the teeth/maxillary of my wife, she also became flashes in one eye (in the darkness). Simultaneous fat loss started in her forehead, temples and cheeks. Deep wrinkles and folds occured. She bites often in her remaining cheeks. At Feb 07 I saw no difference at me, only my maxillary became very noisy when chewing older bread. My wife got a lot of pain and must change to very soft nutrition for more than 1 year.
The feedback from the Dr. on the severe harm was absolute poorly. He knewed no reason and could not see a relationship to RF - nor he (with 25 years of RF experience and study in the States) helped with any treatment or medicine against the progressively desease. Mid 2007 my wife went for advise to other physicians - 2 with Thermage equipment - both said, that she would be a double reject reason: small face
and over 50 - its to risky that the collage fibres would not be new produced. Still in sept. 2007 a small but in Germany well reputated beauty clinic offered the opinion: Thermage causes no fat loss(!) - only tightening and the result depends from the underlying tissue. Thermage also were not to use against wrinkles(!) Additional treatments - fillers - have to follow often. After 6 at least after 9 month the procedure will be finished...This is wrong regarding my adverse effects strengthened clearly in autumn 07 and see all the reporting victims in the forums.
Thermage provides a lot of informations for physicians on its homepage - also warnings. Fat loss is mentioned there as very rare but possible. So it is irresponsibly from doctors not to mention this! Severe side effects like destruction of the subcuntaneous fat layer changes your life. I researched how to stop this. The Thermage community prefers to be silent. We and all the other victims cannot stop fat loss, fast aging and so far!!! This is terrible. This is well known at least since 2004 (MDR Report Key 32460 / 06 /12/2004 > FDA)
....Pt has lost significant fat in their face and it keeps dying off, an affect pt is told, resulting from the thermage going deeper then the collagen layer and heating and destroying the subcutaneous fat layer. This, pt is told by thermage, causes the fat to die and be absorbed by the body. They do not know at this time if it can regenerate however, it has happened to many pts besides this pt....
In July 2008 I got the confirmation from the top beauty clinic in Germany that particularly for the face Thermage is not quite safe and some tests are still necessary. When overtreatment occurs there is no chanse to stop the aging process. After adsorbing the lot of our died cells - I think not before the end of 2008, we have to go under the knife for expensive restoring our visible damages. There must be some reasons that more than 7 million americans trust the knife per year and only about 0.5 percent try Thermage.
