Is Idebenone a chemical very similar to Coenzyme Q10 (ubiquinone)?Since it is synthetic, can it be used in conjunction with CoQ10 or should it be substituted?
Is it true that mitochondrial function can be limited by CoQ10 and idebenone will help older mitochondria work better?
I am just confused as to which one to use? thanks, Allyssa |

Alyssa,
Please take a look at our earlier threads about this issue. The bottom line is that is remains unclear wither topical idebenone is more effective for the skin than Q10 or vise versa. Idebenone might be better for older mitochondria in some respects but worse in others. Unfortunately, no study measured long-term net effects of idebenone vs Q10 in the skin. |
