Has Thermage changed its tune?

Hi everyone,

I’m new here and I have some concerns about the Thermage treatment. On a few websites including here, so many people say Thermage made their faces sag and caused unnatural fat loss. So I never got it done as I originally planned. But that was around the end of 2004 and now I’m hearing that the P.S.’s who have the machine need to undergo some kind of certification process for the company itself to give an official OK. What are your feelings on this. Seems to me no business can stick around for this long w/o adjusting standards for the better – aka, Jack in the Box. Do you think it’s worth a gamble?

It is understandable that they may be trying to make improvements but I am not aware at this time what specific improvements they made and how those were tested/proved. Unless this data is made available by Thermage or independent studies, it is hard to form any opinion.

There is NO WAY I would EVER do Thermage...Through research on fat grafting, I've run into SO MANY women who have had major fat loss from this proceedure. Any supposed "changes" they've made would have to be proven and PROVEN WELL for me to ever consider such a thing. Especially considering the "improvements" I've seen on some have been so slight.

In dec 2006 the doctor promised us Thermage is now 100% safe - new settings - new tips. Former problems they are now solved - we should trust him. The only risk can be that nothing will improve. We were not eager to get Thermage so my wife nerved the dr with her questions like can Thermage cause a thinner face? More of this case you can read in this forum under > Beauty disaster.
In Germany we have about 39 Thermage provider. Our doctor says meanwhile he did not harm us with Thermage(!) Fat loss and the other adverse effects must have other reasons (!) He had not falsely informed us. Thermage would confirm this(!) From the 39 we got NO ONE answer to our question how we can stop the continuing ageing process! Only we heard we were a single case - never seen - never heard this.... I know other victims they heard the same - its works as syncronized. The fact is there is NO chance to stop this when patients receive too much rf! We can only submit our immune system. My wife has not signed up any paper and nevertheless Thermage reminds of a fortress.
