|

I am 27 years old and I have had problems with puffiness under my eyes for my entire life (it can event be seen in some of my baby pictures). People are always telling me I look tired. I don't have huge, sagging bags, but the puffiness is definitely noticable, especially to me. Does anyone have a recommendation for a reasonably priced under-eye treatment that works specifcally on puffiness? I'd be eternally grateful.
BTW I'm new to this site, but from what I've seen so far, its really cool! |

An occasional quick fix is preparation H. (but don't overuse it)
For a longer term solution, you need to try to figure out the cause, if any, and strengthen capillaries.
See http://www.smartskincare.com/infopacks/infopack4.html for detailed discussion of these issues. |

I have had the same problem my entire life, only now I have undereye hollowness in addition to the reservoirs of puffiness. Isn't aging fun?
I use Teamine under my eyes and it does help with dark circles and puffiness. It has green tea as a primary ingredient. Many people also swear by Origins "No Puffery," which I also use sometimes and seems to help a little. I have also recently started taking Horse Chestnut and Butcher's Broom orally, both of which are supposed to help with circulation and edema in the body generally. Applying these substances topically may also help, but I haven't tried that yet myself.
You might want to self-diagnose the cause of the puffiness: For example, could it be caused by allergies to airborne materials (dust, etc.)? Do you have any food allergies? Does it get better when you take an anti-histamine such as Claritin? Does it have to do with salt intake?
Keeping a little journal of your habits and the corresponding effect on your eyes can be of some service, I think. I found that my undereye puffiness is reduced when I don't drink water after about 6pm (a Dr. Todorov suggestion!), and also using a "Save My Face" pillow helps, as it keeps my face from getting smashed when I sleep. Lastly, following the Zone Diet by Barry Sears, which regulates one's blood sugar, is a good way to maximize overall health and in turn have positive effects one's appearance.
Please keep me posted on what you discover in your process, as I am on the same journey myself. Good luck!! |

I drink green tea and save two of the used tea bags in the refrig. In the morning, I put the bags on my eyes for about 10 min. The coolness of the bags and the caffeine in the tea seems to help. I also use an eye cream that contains DMAE.

Try cucumber slices. cut them very thin and place them on your eyes for 10 mins. I don't know why, but it works. |
