I just ordered this "re new serum" and it has Hyrdoxy acids and told to be like a Retinoid "Eye Serum is still a very active product that works in a similar manner to Retin-A"..(Doc maybe you can help here?)
I was wondering what does experts may think of this serum for applying at night on under eye crows feet and lines? I bought the info pack on eyes and read a bit about ph levels etc, but wondered what some though of this?
I am trying many methods to reduce my lines under my eyes before I go for the botox needle.

It is not similar to retin a -- it does not have any retinoids. It's main actives are vitamin C and AHA/BHA. These are legitimate ingredients if properly formulated, but the concentration and stabilization method are not stated. Also, both vitamin C and AHA/BHA are acidic, and for some people may be irritating, especially in the sensitive eye area. Be careful. |

I just tried the Renew Serum last night and did not realize how strong it was. I had a strong redness and almost blushing effect. I was a little concerned, so I wiped it off with water and wrote the company. They said the redness is most likely due to the B vitamins and levels of ph. The skin was all clear by the a.m.
I guess this is like a chemical peel...that disloved the skin layer down..I Just wonder how this does the skin any good?, when it looks this inflamed and red.
What do you think?

It is unclear whether this is irritation from low pH or histamin recation from vitamin B3 (assuming they use niacin) or both. Regardless, you it would seem prudent to avoid this product in your case |

Thanks, I gave it another try tonight, and found it less irritating and red.
I also used much less serum. |
