|

I've read from Dr.Todorov's infopack that one should avoid skin care product that contains alcohol. I'm a DIY skincare. I need to solute some actives in alcohol (e.g., silymarin, boswelia serrata, ferulic acid, etc.) These actives won't dissolve easily in other kinds of bases. So, I want to these actives, using ethanol is unavoidable.
I know that alcohol will strip oils from our skin. Is there anyway we can counter this problem? Say, can I apply oil immediately after I use my cream that contains ethanol? Would this take care of the harm alcohol causes to my skin?
Thanks. |

Put pure alcohol on your face everyday for a week. If your skin doesn't react with redness (mine will for sure) you are ok with the alcohol usage. |

Thanks for your advice. Actually, I have already used my cream that contains small amount of ethanol already (because I needed it to dissolve ferulic acid and silymarin). But I added lots of oil in it too. It has not caused redness or dryness so far. But I don't know whether it has damaged skin in a molecular level or not. |
