Hello, I am 39 years old I had rhinoplasty three weeks ago. (My eyes had a few fine lines with slight puffiness and I don't look my age). I am experiencing facial edema of course, once the swelling goes down, will I be left with wrinkles and sag under my eye area. Also I notices my eyes look hollow, is it because my skin is swollen, will they permanently look like that after the swelling is gone?

The final result depends on many factors, including duraton of swelling, your skin's elasticity, surgeon's skill and so forth. I've seen some people with good results from rhinoplasty. Give it time to heal completely. You may like the final outcome.

I had rhinoplasty about six months ago, and I noticed the same thing: bags, hollows and puffiness, and even some new wrinkles under one eye, and I was starting to get really scared that my nice new nose seriously aged my eyes. Part of the problem i think, was that my eyes continued to swell, and once I worked hard to eliminate that swelling things have gotten much better. The bags and hollows are really almost gone, and I think Im returning to normal. I would suggest you do everything you can to minimize swelling and puffiness: sleeping on your back with your head elevated, applying cold tea bags to your eyes in the morning, and that may prevent permanent damage to the skin around your eyes.

I am now very pleased with the result. Hang in there.
