Love this board. Very informative! Though, after reading some of the posts here re: AHA peels, I began to worry about whether my peel regimen might be too aggressive.
I've been using a 40% lactic acid peel about once/week and was hoping that it was not doing more harm than good (i.e. Hayflick limit, etc). I order my lactic acid from Makeup Artist's Choice and they direct their customers to apply one or twice a week. I leave the peel on for about 2 minutes and get some tingling. Redness usually subsides within 12 to 24 hours.
Any input would be great! The results from this stuff is not dramatic, though it does help me manage rough skin and sunscreen clogged pores. I just want to make sure that I'm not accelerating skin aging. |

From my experience, if it feels like more than you need it probably is. Try cutting your product use in half or diluting the product with water. I hope that is helpful to you. |

Thanks, rainybutterfly. I've cut down my use to once every few weeks. I do like the results, but it would hardly be worth it if, in the long run, it accelerates skin aging. |
