Sup everyone
I'm a 19 year old male and over the past 4 or so years of my life I've developed these dark circular messes under my eyes. I get plenty of sleep so I don't think thats the problem. They aren't wrinkle rings or anything. It just looks kind of like some dead skin.
Anyways I was just wondering if there were any products I could use to help get rid of this and maybe acne scars too while we're on the subject =). Any advice you guys have would be great.
Thanks a lot in advance! |

You have to identify the problem before treatment: are the cicrles due to melanin or to capillaries. They have different treatment.
Acne scars are very hard to treat no matter what advertisements of different procedures say. |

I agree - you can't treat it unless you know what's causing it.
But - following the old Ockham's Razor technique :) I would say it's most likely a dry skn issue. More often than not, dark circles are cuased by dehydrated skin.
Try drinking plenty of water and using a gentle cleanser followed by a good moisturizer under/around your eyes. That's a cheap easy way to see if you get results. If you do - bingo. If you don't - see a dermatologist. :)

If the dark areas under your eyes are due to broken capillaries, you can try using Pycnogenol(French maritime pine bark extract) or grape seed extract topically under your eyes to strengthen the capillaries. Also, never rub your eyes, because that can contribute to more broken capillaries.
If the dark areas are due to hyperpigmentation (excess melanin) then you can try using ingredients that lighten the color of the skin, such as Vitamin C, licorice extract, niacinamide, to name just a few.
And maybe the problem is due to both of the above, but that I can't say for sure. Maybe you also need to exfoliate the the skin around your eyes, but for that your have to gentle in the eye area. |

I had a problem with this aswell..
I never even knew what was the cause, until much later afterwards.
I was using a facial cleanser that had aluminum oxide crystals, and I applied it under my eyes, which I was never supposed to do.
Back then though, I was really ignorant of skincare in general..
This ofcourse caused my undereye to get dark because the aluminum crystals were destroying healthy cells aswell as exfoliating dead ones...
After I stopped using the cleanser, my under eye returned to normal, but after many months and much struggle....such was the damage that I caused to that area of my skin. :(
So, it could that you are putting something on your skin and you don't even know it's causing any damage.
Are you putting anything near your eye, like a cleaner, toner or moisturizer? |

Getting plenty of high quality sleep is great for your skin and your looks of course. But if you sleep with your face down on the pillow all the the time, that can eventually show up on your face, especially in the delicate skin around your eyes. If you were to be lying face down on your pillow with all that pressure on your eye area all nite, it could be akin to rubbing your eyes for about 8 hours, resulting in broken capillaries and dark circles under the eyes. I'm not saying that is the cause, but it's one thing to consider. |

Have you looked into trying Haloxyl? I haven't read any reviews on it yet though. |
