I am a 44 year old male and have always had reds spots on my thighs and the backs of my arms. My Dad also had those spots and now my 10 year old daughter has them. My daughter is very self conscience of these. Is there any thing we can do?

My wife and son have perfect skin.

Sounds like a gene you guys got! It must be just something in the pigment. My brother and I have sort of an unusual skin color. It has a slight yellow tint to it. It lacks the reddish color that I see in most caucasians. I also have freckles (cause I'm Irish)! They are big too. They are all the size of beauty marks, but in many places. I'm not one of those freckled red heads. In fact, I'm a natural brunette. I don't have any freckles on my face, but they are on my arms, legs and shoulders.

It sounds, from your description, that what you have are almost like red freckles/beauty marks. I don't know of anything there is to get rid of freckles. I always wondered if I scraped the skin off of a freckle, if it would return when the skin healed. Well, I got in a bike accident and scraped a HUGE part of my skin off on my arm where my darkest freckle was. I have a major scar there now, but the freckle is back!

If your dna says to put a red spot there, I don't think you can get rid of it. It's part of your skin pigment. It would be like trying to turn a white person black or a black person white. However, if you could find out how Michael Jackson did it...LOL There may be something out there that I don't know about or am overlooking. Maybe its not genetic at all. I'm only going off of your description, so by all means, look for something to rid them! I would be self concious if I had them too....sometimes I wonder what people think of all my huge freckles! Sorry I'm not able to help you.
