I was just wondering what good ways there were for me to clear up and get rid of any acne on my face. I dont have a huge problem with it, just a few zits now and then, but Id like to know of any good things to use to really clear up my face.

if it makes any diffrence on what product or method of treatment to use Im a guy.

You actually have really good skin! You are fair and have red hair, so some of what you are talking about I can't tell if it is old spots that are taking a while to fade or a little reddishness in your skin. But you have really nice skin and like you said, just a few pimples like anyone else our age would (you look about the same age as me). So, what I would recommend is something similar to what I do - because i also don't have an acne problem but want clearer, nicer skin. I would go to a dermatologist and express your concerns and what you are looking for. Some dermatologists don't consider mild acne a true concern, while others take into great consideration a patient's aesthetic concerns.

I personally have always had success with Retin A and use .04mg. of that to keep my skin clear and to help prevent fine lines and wrinkles and create a nice skin texture. My skin isn't especially sensitive or oily. There is also Differin, which is milder than retin A but also a retinoid. I don't think you want anything very drying to the skin. I would say salicylic acid maybe. But you look like you have sensitive skin judging from where you shave. A dermatologist could help formulate some plan for you that works with your skintype. It beats trying out a lot of harsh drugstore acne treatments.

As a moisturizer, I used to wear Dermalogica's Active Moist to bed at night when I was concerned with acne, and it really cleared my skin up while moisturizing at the same time. It was gentle too. The stuff is amazing in my opinion! And if you aren't already, you should be wearing some sort of sunscreen product everyday - especially with your fair complexion. Since you are fair, you want to watch out for discoloration. Well, those are my thoughts - I would start with a dermatologist's appointment. Look for a dermatologist that is interested in aesthetic issues. That may mean they offer injections and such - things you don't need, but they still will be more concerned with helping you achieve what you want. Good luck!
