I've been plagued with acne all my life, and the only thing that seems to control it is benzoyl peroxide, but I've read so much lately about how it damages the cell walls through oxidation, and I'm wondering if anyone can suggest a good antioxidant that won't clog pores.

I read somewhere that Azelaic acid is a scavenger of free radicals from oxidation, and this is also proven to help acne, so I'm wondering if it's true that it's also an antioxidant.

Thanks so much for any suggestions!

Peroxides kill bacteria by releasing free radicals. Therefore, using strong antioxidants could reduce the effectiveness of benzoyl peroxide against acne.

Thanks for the prompt reply, but I do think your sarcasm is unnecessary. Best to you.

No sarcasm intended. If using BP try to find the lowest possible concentration that works for you.

Thanks. I'm using 2.5%, and I think that's the lowest, but I'll keep searching. Best to you.

It is the lowest commercial one. But you could try diluting further with and see if even lower level might work for you.
