I recently ran out of my favorite cleanser that I have used for years and can't find it, St ives Clear Pore Cleanser, a simple nonoily salicylic acid formula. I got their Apricot scrub instead. Two nights ago I used it for the first time then got the bright idea to start up with a Glycolic Acid 10% treatment lotion that I have used 2-3 x week for 2 months before but had not used for a few months. I woke up yesterday with red blotches and tiny red bumps all over my face and neck. And I mean thousands! Like every pore on my face is a tiny red bump! I look hideous! Now my face is starting to peel and itch.

Do you think that it was the glycolic acid, the combination of the two or the Apricot scrub that produced this reaction? Could this be an allergic reaction? (I have never reacted this way to anything before.) Is there anything I can do to calm my skin down and get back to normal? Is there anything I should avoid? Anyone know where I can find the Clear Pore claenser or a good substitute? I have 42 year old oily breakout prone skin.
Thanks for reading all this and any help you can give me!

it's hard to tell unless you stop everything and add one thing at a time to rule out the culprit.

Good luck

ps I get rashes sometimes from certain metals.
