My dr wrote the presciption for Estriol 0.3% & he said that the biggest problem I will have is that every compound pharmacy is different . He doesn't favor compounding pharmacies because he says that they all have different quantity & it make it very difficult. There are no standardization & I might have a problem with bioavailability. There is a huge problem with componding for that reason.
Many put anything into a cream & call it bio-identical .
He said he never wrote a presciption for estriol facial cream & was not able to recommend a conpounding pharmacy - he refuse to work with them because there is no standardization !

is there a problem with bioavailibity when estrogen is componded in a facial cream ?

One alternative is to take a common vaginal cream such as Estrace and mix 1:1 with a light lotion before applying -- but check with your doc first.

FIY, as far as I recall, Estrace is estradiol, so if you need specifically estriol you may indeed need compounding. But estradiol was studied for skin care too.

I call his office to request the Estrace & I was told to come in for an office visit & there will be a charge !
Even though I have to pay I will ask for the Estrace because it is not compounded .
can I mix the Estrace with the silicone powder gel Monistat ? thank you

Probably, but I haven't tried this particular gel as a vehicle, so I can't tell you for sure.
