Dr Todorov ,

I have a blood vessel ( blue bulge ) on the lower lip .

I visited 2 doctors :

- The dermatologist said he will use a laser to burn the blood vessel .

- The plastic surgeon said he will excise the blood vessel .

How does one know which to choose ?

Which one is a better choice for minimal scar ?

What does he/she mean by "excise the blood vessel? Is it sclerotherapy or actual removal?

Unfortunately, this is not enough information to have an opinion. Typically, laser would be less invasive and less reliable in terms of results.

Generally, blood vessels can be removed by sclerotherapy, ligation or laser. Not sure if there is any specific method for lower lip.
