I (foolishly) purchased a Natrol ALA capsule at the health food store that has rice starch and magnesium stearate in the ingredient list. The powder will not dissolve - I tried using base cream, when it became clear the powder would not dissolve in the cream I experimented with alcohol and glycerin, then I tried pure oil. Nothing works! I see now I should have purchased a special kind to mix in my creams. Have I just wasted my money, or is there any way to dissolve this :? thanks in advance....

You may try to pre-dissolve in [mildly] heated oil (e.g. olive, canola or coconut). But even if you dissolve it, the cream is likely to remain grainy because starch won't dissolve anyway. As I mentioned, it may be better to get solubilized ALA.
