Dr. Todorov.....Is there any reason to be concerned with using green tea extract in a vitamin C serum? One that uses ascorbic acid.
The MSDS on green tea says this.

Chemical Incompatibility: Avoid contact with strong oxidizing and acid agents.

Thanks

It could be that green tea extract degrades more in acidic environments but I don't have specific data to tell you how much more. Oxidation of many classes of organic chemicals is accelerated by acids.

In any case, the main problem could be that the presence of a colored substance, such as green tea extract, may mask oxidation of the vitamin C, so you won't be able to see it and may fail to discard serum if it goes bad.
