Dear Dr. Todorov,

I have a lingering mild ptosis on my left eyelid after healing of my scratched cornea (corneal ulcer).

I've been reading about CoQ10 and its positive effects on muscle dystrophy.
Isn't ptosis a form of hypotonia which is considered a type of muscle dystrophy?

I've read your article about BoTox complications and their respective treatments. For ptosis you cited apraclonidine or phenylephrine eyedrops as partial treatment.

What do you think of CoQ10? I'm thinking of applying CoQ10 / Ubiquinol softgels on my eyelid. Will it help? Thanks!  :D

Hard to say. At present, the evidence that CoQ10 helps muscular distrophy is still rather sketchy. Besides, this condition cannot be completely equated with ptosis. Hence, the usefulness of CoQ10 for ptosis is impossible to assess at this point.

If its muscle distrophy then facial exercises should help.
