I was reading in an article that " Alpha lipoic acid appears to reduce fine lines . Because side effect include inflammation, however, it's possible that inflammation is responsible for this effect . " Is inflammation a side effect of ALA ?

Generall, it is not. However, some people develop irritation/sensitivity to ALA, in which case they shouldn't use it.

If inflammation helps skin to look less lined, how do we trust the appearance of skin to tell us whether a product is having a beneficial effect?

If it is inflammation, then wrinkle-smoothing effect will disappear a few days after the product s is discontinued. In any case, it is best not to use concentrations causing irritation.

im having a mild improvement on beclometasone and lipoic acid, however, i cant say if is caused by treatment or is the usual cyclic upndown
