I have little fine lines in the inner corner of my eyes and they faintly stretch downwards towards cheeks - the skin under my eyes is tight and thin. When I use eye creams they don't seem to do much for the area and the area looks dehydrated even though I take great care of myself internally and externally. I tried oils a couple of years ago and though they gave a less dehydrated look to the area they caused bagginess in the area so I am reluctant to use them now. I currently use Vaseline and it does help the tightness better than the eye creams but the downside is the area looks shiny and it highlights the fine lines and it isn't really moisturising the area. I love to either hear from Dr. Todorov also someone who has had a similar problem and found a solution for this problem.

What exactly do you mean by "tightness"?

Hi Dr. Todrov,

Thank you for your reply. I mean by "tightness" the area under my eye looks and feels very tight - it looks dehydrated in appearance with little lines coming out from the inner corner of my eyes and extending downwards and as the day goes on they feel tighter and tighter and look deeper and more prominent. I am not dehydrated as I take great care of my health and the rest of my skin is fine. Eye creams do nothing for the dehydrated look as it remains when I apply them. In the past I used oils and they did address the dehydrated appearance but the area looked very wet and it caused bagginess and I ended up having lower blepharoplasty and laser work done on the area and they smoothed the area and faded the lines a little but within a few weeks the lines in the inner eye area were back stronger than ever.
I currently use Vaseline which makes the area wet and it doesn't really address the lines but if I use eye creams I am left with the dehydrated look.
I also have been trying out facial exercises to find some way of addressing that part of my face and that is where I came across Tom Hegarty on Shape your face, very kind and helpful guy and he suggested you might have an alternative to Vaseline for me so I would be very interested to hear your thoughts on it as it is a frustrating one - I am not wining the battle on it ..just yet..
Regards,
SueeB

Dehydrated look doesn't always mean actual dehydration. It might be that fine lines make it seem that way.

But if your eye area skin is indeed dehydrated, there are alternatives to vaseline to try, such as something with hyaluronic acid or oat beta-glucan. Sometimes dimeticone is also useful as an additional ingredient to help "seal-in" moisture -- that's mostly useful in dry environments (such as indoors in the winter).

Hi Dr. Todorov,

Thank you for your reply. Yes your right it is the fine lines that are making the area look dehydrated rather than the area actually being dehydrated.

Thank you for giving me the alternatives to Vaseline - I will google them now and see what products they are in.

Regards,

Sueeb

Thank you Kailey Abril for your reply. I don't know anything about indian natural therapy. What would it involve?
