Can sclerotherapy ever make things worse?
I'm talking to someone who has a vein problem on the legs and face and wants it resolved, however the last few people she went to apparently somehow "made it worse" or caused a lot of bruising.
My understanding is that you really can't make it worse, since even if sclerotherapy did cause other veins they'd be smaller and able to be addressed with a laser. Can you clarify this? I know nothing about it as I'm too young to worry about it.
Moreover, is (significant) bruising a result of a doctors lack of care or simply the procedure itself?
Finally, at what point are lasers no longer effective and injection the best method of removal? I believe she had a concern that somehow the injections on the face had a risk of pigmentation.
Sorry if this seems lazy, I have looked into it a bit and the answers were pretty generic. |

By itself, typical minor and transient bruising it not likely to make spider veins worse. However, a tendency to bruise easily may indicate weakness of capillaries and other blood vessels and thus predisposition to developing spider veins. |
