I have large pores. I have been using roc treatments with retinol for some time, and they really help with minor wrinkles. However, I have yet to find a product that will reduce the size of my pores.
Has anyone had any luck with otc products?
Your input and help are greatly appreciated!!! :) |

Hi, have you come across to this product called DR's Seager?
It's very effective. Recently my sister is using it, for just a month her size of pores have reduced small. And this product will help to smoothen your skin and to cure all kind of skin problems.
Many of my colleagues are using it too and indeed i saw alot of changes on their faces. Everyone of them getting a better look skin.
I'm intended to try it out in June. But the only drawback of this product is it's very expensive. |

I have read that the talc in most modern foundations cause perminant enlarged pores.
Try switching to a talc free cosmetic line or I use mineral makeup. I love it. Still trying different kinds so I do not know which one to recommend.
Perhaps someone on the forum is more informed and can give some recommendations. |

Thanks to all who replied. Pores seem to get bigger with age. Yes, I have recently switched to a mineral makeup, and have also tried two brands, the bare minerals brand on qvc and a supplier on ebay. Both are great.
I'm sure that a lot of it is genetic, but I am going to try a peel routine to see if I can't get some fresher skin up to the surface. lol.
I'm also interested in the new product I am reading about called imedeen. Thinking that as part of a skin care regime with peels and moisturizers, that this might have an effect.
In any event, I'll check out some of the products you've mentioned. Thanks again for the info, these forums are a great learning tool. :) |

Large pores can be treated with a technique called 1540 Fractional Resurfacing. It's not cheap, but it works quite well, and there is no down time or anesthesia involved. The same technique works very well for acne scarring.

Is there a site with before/after non-manifacturer pics of 1540 Fractional Resurfacing results?
After the outrageous claims of IPL and seeing it had zero results on pores in my case (and I got reports from other people too) I no longer buy manifacturers stories. |

I have large pores on my chin and nothing so far has minimized them; in fact, they seem to be getting larger with age. Skin-care technology changes so rapidly that there may now be some type of laser treatment that will help. I'll be attending a seminar on laser techniques in December, so I'll pass along any news I get.

Interesting, I've never read any claims and have done nights upon nights of research on IPL and never read it helped pores... sun spots, veins, redness, and tightening of collagen is all I know of. Sorry you go mis informed :( |

Just Google 'IPL pores' and see what happens. IPL is claimed to 'smooth out skin'. The skin swells one week after treatment due to healing process, the redness and pores look smaller but then the pores are back to usual. I have no doubt IPL helped some people with brown spots, capillaries and redness but the pores claims are simply not true. Also don't expect lasers to tighten up pores - I've seen reports that even after CO2 face resurfacing pores are back to same.
I think pores get more visible when the skin looses collagen and fat. In order to reverse that you probably have to inject groth factors or something. I don't see currently another way of doing it .... I've seen a report from one woman that was claiming she lost weight and her pores became more pronounced, then she gained weight again and the pores disappeared so the correlation is obvious. Anything that fills in the skin from below, anything that makes it 'taught' will make pores appear less visible. Other than that, the pores are natural formations in the epidermis - I've seen them even in younger people like in the begining of their twenties. When we get older the skin becomes less taught and the pores look more pronounced. |
