In your guides you often talk about doing damage to skin when using too many things on the skin. On some level that would make sense for people with nice skin just looking to stop ageing.
For me, I have very sensitive skin, very dry skin, and acne-prone skin.
Because of this my regimen remains something like:
Morning:
- Cleanse with either cetaphil or warm water, pat dry
- CE Ferulic (light glycerine base, might swap to curel comfort lotion) - I usually wait a bit between appliyng this and sunsceen to ensure skin pH isn't high enough to adversely affect sunscreen. Provides some hydration.
- Moisturiser - I use something like a cetaphil moisturiser
- Once all dried 30 mins later I apply Fallene Total Block
Evening:
- Micellar water to remove sunscreen
- Cleanse
- Apply Retin-a 0.05% strength in a very generous amount (2 or more pea sizes). Wait 15 mins
- Apply strong moisturiser for dry skin (usually Avene as it doesn't break me out)
- Apply eye cream
- Finish with few drops of argan oil enriched with omega 3 and 6.
Couple times a week I exfoliate and use a clay masque.
I know this is getting long, but the thing is I'm doing a lot of anti-ageing things that would be considered far too much for someone in their 20's, but is this really doing harm? If I don't do this stuff my skin would be broken, acne-riddled, inflammed, and horrible looking.
On top of that I want to add in BHA peels and maybe even anti-biotics.
I feel as though I NEED to do this, yet I'm concerned I'll be screwing my skin up even more at the same time.
Is there a win-win situation to be had from any of this? |
