Hi all,
Sorry to post with a question straight off but i did a search and could not find anything to match my enquiry, i hope you don't mind.
background - 41 female, good happy skin normally. Olive tone skin, oily with very few wrinkles at all. I wash with the OCM and do Bikram everyday except Tuesday. The sweating has always kept my skin bright and clear.
Seven months ago after being on a long flight i picked up a chest infection. It got worse and worse. i then got quinsy (a throat infection) and was rather unwell and admitted to hospital. I was given IV antibiotics which helped with the infection but upset my gastric tract something awful. During all of the above i got really dehydrated as they didn't put a drip up till quite late on - I think they forgot that with the quinsy i couldn't drink and i was so out of it i didn't realise.
Ok, on to my question.
The first month after i looked like one of the walking dead, my skin was grey and i had papery thin lines like that of very old on my arms, knees, neck, eyes and so on. i drank plenty of water but it just didn't seem to get into the top layer or lift the dullness.
I then added a electrolyle tab to my water - no change (after 4 weeks)
I then added a good multivitamin with minerals - No change (after 4 weeks)
I then added a probiotic - Same again, no joy.
My routine is very simple and has been unchanged for a number of years - shower after Bikram, simple soap only. hair is washed with 'one free shampoo. When done coconut oil on damp skin. At the weekend a bicarb scrub all over.
Obviously the above is not cutting it and i need to find a way of getting the hydration into that grey papery top layer. asap.
I don't smoke or drink. I have a moderately ok diet and minimal caffeine intake. I tend to veer towards low carb as a rule as most wheat products upset my tum.
Any ideas on what i can do? after seven months I am worrying this is going to become permanent! |
