I've use emu oil, rosehip oil, argan oil, pure, mixed, everything. Yet when I put the oil on and rub it in -- even if I use HUGE amounts -- all it feels like it oil... sitting on my skin. My skin still feels dry beneath it.
I find that strange since so many people sing the praises of these oils as being natural, lightweight, and containing similar lipids to human skin.
Am I wasting my time and money on this? Would be I better off not using any oils and just keep paying for good, hydrating, moisturisers? |

Is it possible that you are using too much? I only use a few drops for my whole face of coconut oil. I also have a serum that is grapeseed oil based and it only uses a few drops as well, the more you use the more oily you'll feel. |

Greetings Love,
I use oil but only ON TOP of another moisturizing/humectant ingredient. I think of oil as being a barrier (like a tarp or rain coat to repel rain). Oil seems to protect the existing hydration from escaping while not providing hydration itself. My skin is very dry and I've noticed this over the years. Hope that helps! |
