Hi Dr T, it's been a while!
Lately I've been noticing some new freckles appearing. Yet for the life of me I have no idea how I'm getting them. I've been practicing total light avoidance (just due to circumstances, not heliophobia or anything).
Anyway, is there some explanation for this? Can there be non-UV-related causes for freckles and what not appearing? Should I be concerned? |

| If these are indeed new freckles rather than something just resembling freckles, one other possible trigger (other than light exposure) would be hormonal level changes similar to those causing melasma (e.g. oral contraceptives, for example). | It could be hormones, or maybe they were faint and have just gotten darker and more visible since you started total light avoidance? |
