I am looking for a new lotion base that is comprised of non-comedogenic compounds. I've come across a lotion base that contains the following: (Water, Cetyl Alcohol, Safflower Oil, Glyceryl Stearate, Glycerin, Dimethicone, PEG-40 Sorbitan Lanolate, Stearic Acid, Triethanolamine, Extracts of: Yarrow, Witch Hazel, Mallow, Rosemary, Horse Chestnut, Dandelion, Coltsfoot and Sage, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Imidazolidinyl Urea.) All of the materials appear to be non-comedogenic with the possible exception of the stearic acid. Some sites say it is moderately comedogenic while others don't mention it at all. So, just how comedogenic is stearic acid? Given the amount in the lotion listed above, is it enough to cause problems for someone with normal to somewhat oily skin?

Stearic acid may be mildly comedogenic if a cream has a lot of it. This one may have only a modest amount since stearic acid is relatvely far down in the list.
