Okay here's my problem. I've been using sunscreen under my eyes during the day to protect them from the sun. At night I've then used various under eye creams to try to prevent further fine lines and such. My problem now is that (not sure if it's the sunscreen or the eye cream) some of it has dried and won't come off. I try to take a shower and gently wash under there (I know I can't rub), but then it is still there. It might even be dry skin... but I'm pretty sure it's some of the cream that hasn't come off. Any ideas of what I can do to get it to come off? The only logical thing I can think of is to get some makeup remover (I haven't tried this yet) and attempt to get it to come off that way. Please help me if you can!

It might be skin changes rather than the cream. Anyway, try olive oil.

OOO I wouldnt suggest olive oil around your eye area. It could clog your tear duct, and you can end up with nasty infections!
I'd suggest an eyemakeup remover to try to break down the residue.
Make sure that whatever you put around your eye is ophthalmologist tested. The skin around the eye area is very delicate.

And, when applying eye creams, use your ring finger or pinky finger (those are your weakest fingers so you will avoid tugging) and pat it around the orbital of the eye (the bone structure around the eyeball). the eye creams will naturally seep closer to the eye, so you dont have to get it very close.

Putting straight sunscreen around your eye can be harmful too. Merle Norman carries a great eye cream that has an encapsulated sunscreen SPF 15 so it is safer to use around the delicate eye area.

May I ask, on what science is this based? Applying a botanical oil to the eye area can lead to nasty infections?????

Any oil shouldn't be used so closely to the eye as to get in the eye. Some people use olive oil instead of makeup remover, but it should be done sufficiently far from the eye to avoid it accidentally getting into the eye. (Same goes for almost any makeup remover).

Thanks Dr T. So the conclusion is, treat commercial eye makeup removers and botanical oils with the same caution in this regard.

First of all I think you should not wash your face in a shower, you should buy a good cleanser( I use DDF clycolic 10% tonic complex, it cleans your skin very good and also helps with fine lines) for your face and for your eye area, clean your face first and then take your shower. Also try to use cotton cosmetic squares and be very gentle with your skin especially under your eyes. Good Luck!

Here I want to share some eye skin care tips...
UV protection sunglasses are useful to prevent any damage to the eyes, as well as reduce exposure to sunlight. Coconut oil is very beneficial for health as well as skin. When you apply coconut oil under your eyes, that time the skin under the eyes is moisturized. You can use it to remove wrinkles under the eyes. Types of dry eyes are common in summer. Drinking enough water, eating a healthy diet, and eating watery fruits can help prevent dry eyes.
