I stopped using my birth control pills and I started developing acne mainly around my jawline and mouth...I'm guessing for hormonal reasons. I used Differin religiously for 10 weeks w/o seeing any improvement at all. In fact, I even ended up with acne in places (i.e. forehead) that were clear before I started. I was very optimistic when after the 1st two weeks I didn't suffer from any reactions like dry, itchy or flaky skin (as I had w/ Retin-A in the past). I figured the regimen would be easy to follow and it was. Maybe, I didn't stick w/ it long enough. But, I think 10 weeks of not missing even one application should have showed some improvement. It may also be worth noting that I specifically asked for this prescription from my general doctor, not dermatologist, after succombing to Differin's strong marketing...which I would never do again. Anyway, I'm back to using my Proactiv treaments...and in only a week, I'm already seeing improvement.
