I've been using proactiv for about seven months now and I've gained great results. People ask me what I've done because my skin is so even and clear. However, if i stop using the treatment and decide to try something new, the breakouts would start once more, sometimes even worse than before. I use the cleanser every day, and the toner as well, but I was trying to stop using the toner as much to reduce some irritation. The breakouts would start once more if any part of the treatment was discontinued. I tried adding some antioxidants to my routine to help prevent premature aging, but it's difficult to add a good antioxidant such as vitamin C which would have an effect on the benzoyl peroxide. I find the treatment overly expensive, especially when you can get 10% benzoyl peroxide for less than ten dollars. Why would 2% be more expensive? I'm puzzled and wish they would lower the price if it's so addictive and required. They know that the skin is going to adapt to the treatment, and that any discontinuation is going to have the client, myself, going back for more to prevent the return of the breakouts.
