Skin Care Review: Candela Smoothbeam and V Beam Lasers

by Ginger Mielke

Rating
Adverse Effects

Benefits
none

Drawbacks
Painful; caused red hyper-pigmentation; burning and inflammation; face swelled

Details
This laser is not for anyone with sensitive, delicate, or even "normal" skin. It may only be appropriate for very tough, thick skinned people who may have a lot of acne.... but anyone else who gets talked into having this device used on their beautiful skin-- look out! This was the most horrible experience that I have ever had in my life. It took two years for my skin to start to look normal again. I used a ton of homeopathic and herbal salves along with a lot of TLC to myself to help my skin get back to where it was before the procedure. I was outright lied to by a NYC dermatologist who clearly does not care about his patients. It was clearly all about the money. The manufacturer themselves never got approval to use both the v beam and the smoothbeam together in one session. But this knucklehead doctor is "experimenting" on unsuspecting patients and INSISTS on using both in the procedure. I looked about 25 when I walked into that office for a consultation that day, but I was outright snookered into having a procedure that I clearly did not need. These lasers are dangerous, and in the wrong hands can do a lot of harm to your skin. All consumers, please be careful.

Conclusions
Stay away from the V beam and the Smoothbeam lasers.
