Skin Care Review: Atkins Diet

I've suffered with acne from my teens into adulthood and with everything I tried, the best I ever got was satisfactory results. Last year, I went on the Atkins diet to shed a few pounds. And while I was on that diet, something miraculous happened...my skin cleared up completely! I didn't have to use any acne products or worry about getting a breakout from putting moisterizer on my face or anything. Since that revelation I've done some research and I found that the main culprit for acne and other skin problems is high blood sugar spikes. By going on the Atkins diet, I severly restricted my carbohydrate intake, thereby reducing spikes in my blood sugar which cause skin inflamation. I recommend anyone with a skin problem like acne to try a low carb diet like Atkins or The Zone. What have you got to lose but your skin problems?
