I used accutane about 15 years ago. I took the Rx for two months. I have had excellent results. No more deep acne lumps which were painful. My son had a problem on his back which was cured with the accutane. My daughter did not take the accutane but used the antibiotics, and 15 years later she still has acne. She feels the drying effect will be perminent and cause her to age faster. But the drying effect is only temporary. This is a wonderful drug. Put the females on birth control and let them have the cure as well as the men. I feel it is far more unhealthy to take antibiotics indeffinitely, when a two month to three month treatment could cure it. The cost can be contained by ordering the drug in the bulk bottle. I hope this helps someone considering the curative option of accutane.
