Skin Care Review: L'Oreal Line Eraser Night Pure Retinol

by Wendy, Champlain, NY USA

Rating
Adverse Effects

Benefits
It's supposed to reduce or prevent wrinkles.

Drawbacks
Contains unnecessary fragrance; may cause acne, but not sure.

Details
First, I'll start by saying that I'm thirty-six, and I have combination skin: oily and/or acne prone in the "T" zone (the forehead, and between the eyes and down to the nose and chin). My skin is fair and freckles and burns easily. I started using this product about nine or ten months ago. Ever since I began using it, I have been getting pimples much more often in the "T" zone. I think that when I discontinued its use, I stopped getting acne. I'm not sure if this product has prevented or lessened any wrinkles. I still see wrinkles. I think I probably should have followed the directions better. They say "smooth until thoroughly absorbed" which I think I neglected to do. I think I didn't "smooth" it on long enough for it to get absorbed into the skin. I would have liked it if they didn't put any fragrance in the product. I think the acne may have been caused by other factors, or a combination of this product with other factors, such as exfoliating, or using old makeup, or going to bed with not-so-clean hair, or maybe something in my diet, like caffeine or sugar. I think I read that exfoliating plus retinol causes acne. Maybe this combination caused the pimples.

Conclusions
Mediocre results, but perhaps other factors have come into play.
