Skin Care Review: Retin-A

by Lana Putman, Springfield, OR

I have tried to use Retin-A, a Johnson & Johnson product of 0.05 strength, on different areas of my face, including under my eyes and above my lip (for wrinkles) and on occasional blemishes. Although it does clear up and seem to heal blemishes quickly, after a day or so, any area that I put the cream on becomes so scaly and dry, yet quite red as well, and even if I moisturize, the area continues to flake and dry and redden. Because of the negative effects, I can never use it long enough to see if it has any affect on my fine lines and wrinkles.
