Skin Care Review: Retin-A

by Heidi, Richardson, TX United States

Prevented wrinkles, maintained elasticity.

Can cause redness, irritation, peeling until your skin adjusts to it.

I've been using Retin-A off and on since I was 10 years old (I'm 45 now) initially because of raging acne, then as an anti-wrinkle cream in my late 20s. The skin under my eyes is remarkably smooth and elastic for my age and wrinkling on my forehead is not bad, either. I've recently started using it on the backs of my hands at night. For me, it has worked more as a preventative than as a wrinkle reducer.

Hang in there with it. Alternate nights, if nec. Use moisturizer.
